Those who feed the planet
An unprecedent Slow Food initiative with 2500 producers, under forty years of age, from more than 120 countries of the world – video
Expo Slow Food, in cooperation with the City of Milan, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Cariplo Foundation and the Compagnia di San Paolo, has organized “We feed the planet”, a unique event that – as commented Joris Lohman, president of Slow Food Youth Network – “aims to show the world that those who really feed the planet are already working.
Fishermen, peasants, farmers, cattlemen, all these people work for the same purpose, and, above all, they have clear ideas about what, in the current food system, is not working: malnutrition, wasting, labor exploitation and commodification of food. From Australia to Canada, from the South America’s villages to Sahara, all these young heroes, gathered under the sky of Milan, are part of a big family that shares many stories and a common goal: changing the food system.”
